Two Suppers
“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God” (Revelation 19:7-9).
What a wonderful thing it is to realize that we who know Christ as our Savior are not only invited to the marriage, but we are going to be the bride of Christ. There in the Father’s house, we will be married to the Lord to be His bride and wife for all eternity.
However, in the meantime, we have been invited to partake in another supper. It is called “the Lord’s supper,” (1 Corinthians 11:20), and we are encouraged, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till He come” (1 Corinthians 11:26).
Will you partake of His supper today? If you are truly saved, it is His desire that you do.
