Tempted

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward ahungered” (Matthew 4:1-2).

“For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succor (help) them that are tempted” (Hebrews 2:18).

Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights. At the end, when He was naturally very weak and hungry, Satan laid three heavy temptations on Him. So Jesus knows what it is to be tempted, and He knows just how to help us when we’re tempted. He knows that Satan attacks when we’re down, alone, hungry, and tired.

Now the Lord Jesus, the same Man that was tempted here on earth, is living for us in heaven. He understands what it is to be tempted of the devil, and, as such, “He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25).

When the devil comes to tempt you today, look to Jesus for help. “He is able.”
