Reigning with Christ
Today, I visited the Egyptian museum in Cairo which houses an extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts covering 5,000 years — including King Tutankhamun’s treasures. This was my third visit to the museum and, as I viewed the treasures which included gold covered chariots, fine jewelry, and the statues and mummies of the Pharaohs and nobility of past illustrious kingdoms, I was suddenly struck by the fact that there was no mention of a Joseph or a Moses. Then I realized that they will be part of a far greater and enduring kingdom, when we reign with Christ during the millennium.
When Satan showed the Lord, “all the kingdoms of the world,” it was only “in a moment of time” (Luke 4:5). However, there is a time when it says of those who reign with Christ, “and they shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). Moses gave up the glory of Egypt to serve the Lord and lead His people out of Egypt and through the Sinai Peninsula. Centuries later, he talked with the Lord on the Mount of Transfiguration, (Matthew 17:1-3). In a future day, he will reign with Christ. Are we living in view of the coming kingdom? The promise to the believer is, “we shall also reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12).
