Love

“Greater love hath no man than this” (John 15:13).

Outside the walls of Jerusalem, on Calvary’s hill, was the greatest display of love that the world has ever known and ever will know. There the Lord Jesus in love “laid down His life for us” (1 John 3:16). This is a love that cannot be calculated or measured. It is a love beyond human comprehension. It is wonderful, sweet, precious, divine love. “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). “Having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end” (John 13:1).

Dear young people, my prayer for you today is this:

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19).

This is the greatest, and most marvelous of loves. Think much upon it today, and it will produce praise and thanksgiving in your heart and on your lips.
