Dear Young Christian:

Today the internet is down! I feel so isolated and out of touch. In a way it’s ridiculous, but I am so used to being connected that I tend to fret and think I’m missing out when it doesn’t work, even for a short time. It also makes me realize how dependent I have become on technology.

As I think about this, I am thankful to know that there is always an open line to heaven. Communication with God the Father and the Lord Jesus is always available. There are no dropped calls, no call waiting, no areas where there is no service, and no chance of being put on hold. “Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). It doesn’t matter the time of day or night, where we are, or what we are doing. We are told, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). This week, avail yourself of the open line between yourself and heaven. And don’t let something in your life come between you and the Lord.

Your Christian Friend,

Jim Hyland

We would love to hear from you.
