Grace and Truth
“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).
Condemnation by the law
Proved man’s true condition,
Lost in sin and far from God
Was our true position.
Refrain:
Grace and truth, grace and truth,
Now by Christ have entered;
No more curse of law remains,
All in Him is centered.
On the cross He gave Himself,
There from sin to save us,
Bore our guilt and shed His blood,
From the curse to free us.
Now set free — new life in Christ,
Nothing can this truth dim;
I will live and serve my Lord,
Till in heaven I see Him.
