Happiness

Today, being the first day of another year, we will often hear people say, “Happy New Year.” In fact, we may find ourselves saying it to family and friends. But the key to having a happy, fruitful 2015 is found in the opening verses of the first Psalm. “Blessed (happy) is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3).

Perhaps 2014 wasn’t as happy and fruitful as it could have been. Make a fresh start today, and live for the Lord in the little time that is left before His coming.

Here is another key to happiness, recorded by King Solomon: “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding” (Proverbs 3:13). If you put the Lord first, 2015 can be the happiest year of your life!
