Dear Young Christian:

Do you have beautiful feet? I don’t mean naturally speaking, and I’m not asking you if you have had a pedicure lately. No, I mean in a spiritual sense. This morning my wife and I read the verse, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15). The Bible says that those who bring the good news or “glad tidings” of the gospel have beautiful feet.

Sharing the gospel is not just for a few select and gifted believers. It is not just preaching from the pulpit or a Sunday night evangelical meeting. No, we can all have beautiful feet. Every time you give a testimony, either by your life, your speech, handing out a gospel tract, speaking a word for Christ or any other way, the Word of God declares, “How beautifulare the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation” (Isaiah 52:7).

Will you have beautiful feet this week?

Your Christian Friend,

Jim Hyland

Risen

“The Lord is risen indeed” (Luke 24:34).

This is perhaps the most triumphant message that was ever uttered by human lips. This announcement was made to the disciples who were gathered together in fear and trembling , in the upper room in Jerusalem, after the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus. This message was the result of the Lord appearing to the two who were traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus. After He had revealed Himself to them in their home, they returned to Jerusalem, found the disciples and told them the whole story. “And they told what things were done in the way, and how He was known of them in breaking of bread” (Luke 24:35).

What a jubilant, victorious message these two had to convey to the troubled hearts of the disciples. How thankful we should be that we have a risen, glorified Saviour, and while we remember Him today as the One who died for us, we rejoice and worship Him as the living Lord. “We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man” (Hebrews 2:9).
