He joined David at Hebron, as a chieftain of his father’s house (1 Chron. 12:2828And Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father's house twenty and two captains. (1 Chronicles 12:28)), remained faithful to him and subsequently anointed Solomon (1 Kings 1:3939And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. (2) A priest in the reign of King Ahaziah (1 Chron. 6:1212And Ahitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum, (1 Chronicles 6:12)). (3) Father of Jerusha, wife of Uzziah and mother of Jotham king of Judah (2 Kings 15:3333Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok. (2 Kings 15:33)). (4) Son of Baana, who helped Nehemiah to repair the walls of Jerusalem (Neh. 3:44And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz.
