256. Praise the Saviour, Ye Who Know Him

8,8,8,5.
by T. Kelly
1
Praise the Saviour, ye who know Him,

Who can tell how much we owe Him?

Gladly let us render to Him

All we have and are.
2
Jesus is the name that charms us,

He for conflict fits and arms us,

Nothing moves and nothing harms us

While we trust in Him.
Ephesians 6:11-17; Acts 20:24; Psalm 125:1
3
Trust in Him, ye saints, forever,

He is faithful, changing never;

Neither force nor guile can sever

Those He loves from Him.
Psalm 37:5; Hebrews 10:23; Hebrews 13:8; Romans 8:38-39
4
Keep us, Lord, oh keep us cleaving

To Thyself and still believing,

Till the hour of our receiving

Promised joys with Thee.
Acts 13:23; Romans 15:13; Matthew 25:21,23
5
Then we shall be where we would be,

Then we shall be what we should be;

Things that are not now nor could be

Soon shall be our own.
Philippians 1:23; 1 John 3:2
“Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Ephesians 6:11-17)
“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24)
“<<A Song of degrees.>> They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” (Psalm 125:1)
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5)
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Hebrews 10:23)
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
“Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus.” (Acts 13:23)
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 15:13)
“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
“His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” (Matthew 25:23)
“For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.” (Philippians 1:23)
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2)
