(the Lord is my father), are variants of the same word. Abia (1 Chron. 3:10¹⁰And Solomon's son was Rehoboam, Abia his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son, (1 Chronicles 3:10), Matt. 1:7⁷And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa; (Matthew 1:7)), is the son of Rehoboam; and in Luke 1:5⁵There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. (Luke 1:5), is the eighth of the twenty-four courses of priests. For division of priests see (1 Chron. 24. and particularly vs. 10).
