(eastern). Only in N. T., and then with reference to Asia Minor, or even to western Asia Minor, with the capital at Ephesus (Acts 2:9; 6:9; 16:6⁹Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, (Acts 2:9)
⁹Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. (Acts 6:9)
