| God desires for His children that “the peace of God rule in your hearts.” The word “rule” means to “act as umpire” or “arbitrate,” that is, to make the decisions: to direct and control our lives. Most of us know that any decisions made when our hearts were not filled with God’s peace have been wrong and hurtful decisions. We continually need in our hearts “the peace of God.” “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” For “the Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.” “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” “Lord, Thou wilt ordain peace for us: for Thou also hast wrought all our works in us.” “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom. … Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.” “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee.” “Now the peace of God be with you all.
