Listen from:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”; this was followed by His creating all that has breath, and finally man; who is exhorted to remember his Creator in the days of his youth (Eccl. 12:11Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; (Ecclesiastes 12:1)). The heathen world is charged with serving the creature more than the Creator (Rom. 1:2525Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25)). Of the Son of God it is said, “all things were created by Him and for Him” (John 1:33All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3); Col. 1:1616For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)). This has been deemed a difficulty by some minds, but Hebrews 1:22Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2) should entirely remove this, where it is stated that God has spoken by “His Son.... by whom also He made the worlds.” Therefore God is the Creator, and the Son is the Person in the Godhead by whom the whole universe was created. To his Creator man owes allegiance. The Psalmist devoutly said, “Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker” (Psa. 95:66O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. (Psalm 95:6)); whereas of the wicked it is said, “Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker” (Isa. 45:99Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? (Isaiah 45:9)).
