(gloomy). (1) First son of Midian (Gen. 25:4⁴And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah. (Genesis 25:4); 1 Chron. 1:33³³And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah. (1 Chronicles 1:33); Isa. 60:6⁶The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of the Lord. (4) A Hebrew dry measure, estimated at 2.5 to 3.25 pecks (Ruth 2:17¹⁷So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
