Shackles – (from sometime before 1860)
Shackles for the feet. It is said of Joseph that his feet were hurt with fetters (
Psa. 105:18

Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: (Psalm 105:18)
). They are spoken of as being made of brass and of iron (
Judg. 16:21
