33And Jacob said, Swear to me today, and he swore to him; and sold his birthright to Jacob.
34And Jacob gave to Esau bread and the dish of lentiles; and he ate and drank and rose up and went away: thus Esau despised the birthright.

41And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him. And Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand, and I will slay my brother Jacob.

21Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; and Israel turned away from him.
