Granny was getting old and forgetful. Many a time she would lose her glasses. She would search a long time in all corners of her little cottage looking for them, and at last she would find them on her forehead.
How like Granny some folks are when it comes to the saving of their souls. They look far and wide for salvation, when it is “nigh” all the time. (
Rom. 10:8

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; (Romans 10:8)

“What does ‘nigh’ mean?” a gospel preacher asked his audience one night. “It means ‘right here,’" was his own reply.
“The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
