(vagabond). An abandoned woman (Gen. 38:15¹⁵When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. (Genesis 38:15)). Harlotry forbidden (Lev. 19:29²⁹Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. (Leviticus 19:29)). Type of idolatry (Isa. 1:21²¹How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. (Isaiah 1:21); Ezek. 16). Classed with publicans (Matt. 21:32³²For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. (Matthew 21:32)).
