1. A Levite, musician and door-keeper in the time of David (1 Chron. 15:18, 20¹⁸And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, the porters. (1 Chronicles 15:18)

4. Son of Jehoshaphat, slain by Jehoram (2 Chron. 21:2²And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. (2 Chronicles 21:2)).

Father of Sheohaniah, who supported Ezra in the matter of the strange wives (Ezra 10:2²And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
