Job 10:7,14‑17• 7Upon thy knowledge that I am not guilty,{HR}And that none can deliver out of thy hand?
14If I should sin, thou wouldest mark me,{HR}And not in mine iniquity hold me guiltless.
15If I be guilty, woe unto me!{HR}And righteous, I durst not raise my head,{HR}Filled with shame, and seeing my misery;
16And should it hold itself up, as a lion thou wouldest hunt me,{HR}And turn again, and act wondrously against me.
17Thou wouldest renew thy witnesses against me{HR}And multiply thy displeasure against me —{HR}Reinforcements, and a host upon me. (Job 10:7,14‑17)
Job 22:5‑30• 5Is not thy wickedness great,{HR}And no end of thine iniquities?
6For thou distrainedst thy brother without cause,{HR}And didst strip off the clothes of the naked;
7To the weary thou gavest no water,{HR}And from the hungry didst withhold bread.
8And the man of might — his was the land,{HR}And the accepted of face dwelleth in it.
9Widows didst thou send empty away,{HR}And the arms of the fatherless were broken.
10Therefore round about thee [are] snares,{HR}And sudden fear overpowereth thee.
11Or seest thou not the darkness,{HR}And the flood of waters covering thee?
12[Is] not God [Eloah] in the height of the heavens?{HR}And see the top of the stars, how high they are!
13And thou sayest, What knoweth God?{HR}Will he judge through the darkness?
14Thick clouds [are] a covering to him, and he seeth not,{HR}And he walketh on the circle of the heavens.
15Wilt thou keep to the old way{HR}Which men of iniquity trod,
16Who were snatched away untimely:{HR}A flood was poured on their foundation;
17Who were saying to God, Depart from us,{HR}And what could the Almighty do for them?
18And he filled their houses with good!{HR}But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19The righteous will see and rejoice,{HR}And the innocent mock at them:
20Is not our adversary cut down?{HR}And the fire devoureth their residue.
21Acquaint thyself, I pray thee, with him, and be at peace;{HR}Thereby shall good come to thee.
22Receive, I pray thee, law from his mouth,{HR}And lay up his words in thy heart.
23If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up;{HR}([If] thou put iniquity far away from thy tent),
24And put precious ore on the dust,{HR}And that of Ophir as stones of brooks;
25And the Almighty shall be thy precious ores,{HR}And silver of toilings to thee.
26For then in the Almighty shalt thou delight,{HR}And lift up thy face to God [Eloah].
27Thou shalt pray to him, and he shall hear thee,{HR}And thou shalt pay thy vows,
28And thou shalt decree a thing, and it is established to thee,{HR}And light shall shine on thy ways.
29When they are dejected, then shalt thou say, Lift up,{HR}And he will save him of downcast eyes;
30He will deliver him that is not guiltless,{HR}And he is rescued by the cleanness of thy hands. (Job 22:5‑30)
