One of the ancient peoples who possessed the land promised to Abraham (Gen. 15:19¹⁹The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, (Genesis 15:19)). Probably the same as bene-Kedem, “children of the east” (Judg. 6:3³And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; (Judges 6:3)).
