1. Son of Tahan, an Ephraimite (1 Chron. 7:26²⁶Laadan his son, Ammihud his son, Elishama his son, (1 Chronicles 7:26)).

Descendant of Gershon the son of Levi (1 Chron. 23:7-9⁷Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei. ⁸The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three. ⁹The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three.
