Lime

The use of this material was evidently understood by the Israelites. Isaiah 33:1212And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire. (Isaiah 33:12) speaks of the “burnings of lime”; and in Amos 2:11Thus saith the Lord; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: (Amos 2:1) judgment is pronounced upon Moab because of having “burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime.”
