GEN 37:3³Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors. (Genesis 37:3)

Now Israel loved Joseph.

Joseph had a very special relationship with his father. Israel (or Jacob) had had a troublesome life, but one thing in his life brought him great joy. That was his son Joseph. This reminds us of the love of God the Father for His Son, Jesus, of whom He could say, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
