1. Daughter of Nahor, Abraham’s brother (Gen. 22:24²⁴And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah. (Genesis 22:24)).

2. Daughter of Talmai king of Geshur, and one of David’s wives, the mother of Absalom (2 Sam. 3:3³And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; (2 Samuel 3:3); 1 Chron. 3:2²The third, Absalom the son of Maachah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur: the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith: (1 Chronicles 3:2)).

3. Father of Achish king of Gath (1 Kings 2:39³⁹And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath. (1 Kings 2:39)).

4. Daughter, or apparently granddaughter of Absalom (or Abishalom), wife of Rehoboam king of Judah, mother of Abijah (or Abijam), and apparently grandmother of Asa king of Judah (1 Kings 15:2,10,13²Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom. (1 Kings 15:2)
¹⁰And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom. (1 Kings 15:10)
¹³And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron. (1 Kings 15:13); 2 Chron. 11:20-22²⁰And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith. ²¹And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.) ²²And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king. Wife of Machir, son of Manasseh (1 Chron. 7:15-16¹⁵And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters. ¹⁶And Maachah the wife of Machir bare a son, and she called his name Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem. (1 Chronicles 7:15‑16)).

7. Wife of Jehiel, father, or founder, of Gibeon (1 Chron. 8:29²⁹And at Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon; whose wife's name was Maachah: (1 Chronicles 8:29); 1 Chron. 9:35³⁵And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife's name was Maachah: (1 Chronicles 9:35)).

8. Father of Hanan, one of David’s mighty men (1 Chron. 11:43⁴³Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite, (1 Chronicles 11:43)).

9. A Simeonite, father of Shephatiah (1 Chron. 27:16¹⁶Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri: of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah: (1 Chronicles 27:16)).

10. Name of a king and of a district east of Argob and Bashan (2 Sam. 10:6,8⁶And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ish-tob twelve thousand men. (2 Samuel 10:6)
⁸And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ish-tob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field. (2 Samuel 10:8); 1 Chron. 19:7⁷So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle. (1 Chronicles 19:7)). In 1 Chronicles 19:6⁶And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah. (1 Chronicles 19:6) the district is called SYRIA-MAACHAH.
