• As to Moses, the man against whom they were gathered together, when he heard their seditious words, “he fell upon his face.” This was a very good way to meet rebels. We have seen this beloved servant of God on his face when he ought to have been on his feet (Ex. 14). But here it was about the best and safest thing he could do. There is never much use in contending with restless and disaffected people; better far leave them in the Lord’s hands; for with Him, in reality, is their controversy.
