Pleasures

LUK 8:14¹⁴And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. (Luke 8:14)

The last of the three things that choke God’s Word is the pleasures of life. The world goes after pleasures. Satan entices man with pleasures. And the Christian is often influenced away from God by the pleasures of life. In themselves they may not be all bad, but if taken to excess they choke God’s Word and we become unfruitful. Let’s make a special effort to put the right emphasis on things in our lives so that we always give God first place.
