(1) Father of Tola, a judge of Israel (Judg. 10:11And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim. (Judges 10:1)). (2) An Egyptian midwife (Ex. 1:1515And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: (Exodus 1:15)).
