(sanctified). In O. T., a pious Jew (Psa. 16:3³But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. (Psalm 16:3)). In N. T., a Christian believer (Rom. 1:7; 8:27⁷To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 1:7)
²⁷And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:27); Heb. 6:10¹⁰For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (Hebrews 6:10)).
