(heard of God). (1) Representative of Simeon during the apportionment of Canaan (Num. 34:20²⁰And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. (Numbers 34:20)). (2) Samuel the prophet (1 Chron. 6:33³³And these are they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel, (1 Chronicles 6:33)).
