(1) Southern boundary of David’s empire (1 Chron. 13:5⁵So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath-jearim. (1 Chronicles 13:5)). [SIHOR.] (2) Shihorlibnath, a boundary of Asher, and probably identical with the stream called “Blue River,” which empties into the Mediterranean eight miles south of Dor (Josh. 19:26²⁶And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath; (Joshua 19:26)).
