(1) Second son of Seir, and a Horite duke (Gen. 36:20²⁰These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, (Genesis 36:20); 1 Chron. 1:38³⁸And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan. (1 Chronicles 1:38)). (2) A son of Caleb (1 Chron. 2:50,52⁵⁰These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim, (1 Chronicles 2:50)
⁵²And Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites. (1 Chronicles 2:52)). (3) (1 Chron. 4:1-2¹The sons of Judah; Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal. ²And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites. (1 Chronicles 4:1‑2)), probably same as above.
