A cry of desperation. David was feeling this pressure from God and so cried out for help. In type, he speaks and feels what our Lord Jesus experienced in connection with Calvary. The awfulness of God’s wrath against sin was so terrible that Jesus felt as if He were drowning in a turbulent ocean. We will never know the full extent of what Jesus suffered, but we can always thank Him for bearing it for us.
