About This Product

Excerpt:

The Gospel of Mark presents the Lord Jesus Christ as God’s great Prophet-Servant whom He had promised to raise up in the midst of His people, and who would do the will of God for the glory of God (Deut. 18:15-22). Hence, the theme that runs throughout this Gospel is the perfect service of the perfect Servant.

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we are given a unique insight into the Lord’s service as viewed through the eyes of another servant—John Mark. As such, Mark notes things that others, who not having had the experience of being a servant, would not likely mention. This being so, the Gospel of Mark is a lesson book on the subject of service, having the Lord Himself as the divine Teacher and Model. It is a masterclass in service. As we follow His movements and work, we are instructed in what we are to do in the Master’s service, and how we are to do it. We cannot, of course, do the miracles that the Lord did, but we can learn from the manner in which He conducted Himself as He did those acts of kindness.
