A sapper writes the following touching letter: ―
“My mother is ill, suffering from the results of an accident. Would you permit me, dear Sir, to send her one of your Testaments, for I am sure she will prize it for Christ’s sake? It is my mother who has taught me the way to God, and she is my treasure on earth, for better mother on earth there could be none. My father died about ten years-ago, and since then mother has had many hardships and trials, and she has passed her sixty-second year When I left her to serve my King and Country on November, 1915, her last words to me were: — ‘God and bless you, my lad. Think of God first, and me afterward, and I will pray for you while you are absent from me.” — Sapper A. B. H.
