(going over). The word in Numbers 24:4,16⁴He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: (Numbers 24:4)
¹⁶He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: (Numbers 24:16), is an interjection, without a Hebrew equivalent. In Acts 10:10; 11:5; 22:17¹⁰And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, (Acts 10:10)
⁵I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: (Acts 11:5)
¹⁷And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; (Acts 22:17), an ecstasy is implied, which carried the subject beyond the usual limits of consciousness and volition.
