Introducción
¿Cómo será estar en la presencia de nuestro bendito Señor y Salvador, Cristo Jesús? Efesios nos enseña que Dios ya “ ... nos hizo sentar en los lugares celestiales con Cristo Jesús”. ¿Cómo sería recibir ahora todas las bendiciones que Dios tiene reservadas para nosotros? Efesios nos enseña que “ ... Dios ... nos bendijo con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales en Cristo”. ¿Parece que todo el cristianismo está confundido? En medio de toda la confusión Cristo todavía tiene solamente “un cuerpo” que está compuesto por cada creyente. Efesios también nos da enseñanzas muy prácticas sobre la nueva vida que tenemos en Cristo, la edificación en la asamblea, las relaciones entre personas y la lucha “en las regiones celestes” en lo cual estamos participando.
La asamblea en Efesios
Volvió para dos años en Hechos 19:1-101And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7And all the men were about twelve. 8And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. 10And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. En esta epístola, escrita en más o menos el año 62 d.C., cuando Pablo estaba preso en Roma, tal vez tiene verdades más preciosas que cualquier otra epístola.

La clave a Efesios
Con la riqueza de la enseñanza que tenemos en Efesios, es difícil escoger un versículo clave para todo. Un hermano ha sugerido que Efesios 1:9-109Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (Ephesians 1:9‑10) es la clave para toda la Biblia: “ ... El cual se había propuesto en Sí mismo, de reunir todas las cosas en Cristo, en la dispensación del cumplimiento de los tiempos, así las que están en los cielos, como las que están en la tierra”.
Dios quiere y va a ver al final todo en sujeción a Cristo. Él es digno. ¿Él tiene ya el lugar que merece en nuestros corazones?
El bosquejo
El beneficio de un bosquejo se obtiene cuando un hermano o hermana lo lee con su Biblia abierta. Tal vez tendrás un bosquejo un poco diferente de lo que hay aquí.
I. Efesios 1
Una descripción de los consejos de Dios. Los propósitos que Él tiene para Su Hijo y Su pueblo.
A. Versículos 1-2: Salutación. Toda la voluntad de Dios está centrada en Su Hijo y lo que Él tiene para nosotros en Él. Vea versículos 1,5,9 y 11 de este capítulo.
B. Versículos 3-14: Nuestras bendiciones espirituales en Cristo.
1. Es muy importante distinguir entre las cosas como bienes y como bendiciones espirituales. Las bendiciones espirituales son cosas que durarán por toda la eternidad. Ya tenemos todas estas cosas en estos versículos. En el cielo no vamos a recibir más. Solamente vamos a gozarlas más.
2. Somos:
• Escogidos: Estábamos en los planes de Dios antes de la fundación del mundo. Nosotros debemos ser “santos” en carácter y “sin mancha” en conducta.
• Predestinados: La voluntad del Padre ha sido tener más hijos como Su Hijo. Predestinado significa que Dios nos ha marcado de antemano para bendición. Nadie ha estado predestinado para castigo.
• Aceptados: Nuestro lugar en el cielo es tan seguro como el lugar de Cristo mismo.
• Redimidos y perdonados: Podemos estar en la presencia de Dios sin temor.
• Conocedores de Sus propósitos.
• Herederos de una herencia segura y de valor infinito.
• Sellados por el Espíritu Santo: Él ya mora dentro de cada creyente. Con Él como las arras de nuestra herencia, Él es “una prenda infinita” para garantizar lo que es y va a ser nuestro.
3. Versículos 15-23: La primera oración de Pablo en Efesios.
• En versículo 15 tenemos el cristianismo normal.
• Primero, Pablo quiso que los Efesios entiendan lo que fueron el llamado y la herencia de Dios.
• Segundo, Pablo quiso que ellos entiendan el poder que les puso en posesión de las cosas que Dios tuvo para ellos.
• La iglesia no es un edificio. Es el cuerpo de Cristo. La Biblia nunca habla de una iglesia hecha de madera, ladrillos, bloques o cosas así. La iglesia es cada miembro del cuerpo de Cristo.
II. Una descripción de cómo han progresado los propósitos de Dios.
A. Efesios 2:1-10: Estábamos muertos en pecados pero ya tenemos una vida nueva y estamos sentados en lugares celestiales. Todo es por gracia. Hay que distinguir entre dos palabras:
1. Dar vida: Es el impartir vida a las almas muertas según la prerrogativa soberana de Dios.
2. Salvación: Es cuando yo creo al evangelio, que Cristo tomó mi lugar culpable, murió por mis pecados y fue resucitado para mi justificación.
3. Un hombre que muere es incapaz de decidir que quiere vivir de nuevo. De igual manera, el hombre que está muerto en “delitos y pecados” es incapaz de decidir por su propia voluntad que quiere su propia vida espiritual. Es un proceso que el Espíritu Santo tiene que empezar.
B. Efesios 2:11-19: Los hijos de Israel ya no tienen un estatus especial. Todos ahora pueden por fe aprovecharse de la obra que Cristo ha realizado.
1. Vemos los efectos de Su sangre en el versículo 13 y Su muerte en versículo 15.
2. La obra de Cristo consumada en la cruz trajo estas cuatro cosas esenciales:
• Redención realizada.
• La pared intermedia de separación entre judíos y gentiles fue derribada.
• Un hombre glorificado presente en el cielo.
• El Espíritu Santo morando en los creyentes.
C. Efesios 2:20-22: La Asamblea vista en dos aspectos distintos.
1. Versículos 20-21: La obra que Cristo está haciendo según la mente de Dios al edificar la asamblea desde el día de pentecostés hasta Su segunda venida.
2. Versículo 22: Los efesios unidos con otros gentiles y judíos que son creyentes forman la casa de Dios en el mundo en cualquier momento.
III. Efesios 3
(Un paréntesis, que habla de las administraciones por Pablo de los consejos y las operaciones de Dios).
A. Versículos 1-6: Pablo, un prisionero de Jesucristo por los gentiles. Hay alabanza en nuestras corazones cuando analizamos que somos coherederos, miembros del mismo cuerpo, y copartícipes de las promesas en Cristo Jesús.
B. Versículos 7-13: El evangelio, “las riquezas inescrutables de Cristo” de lo cual Pablo fue hecho un ministro. ¿Estamos administrado estas riquezas a otras personas?
C. Versículos 14-21: La segunda oración de Pablo por los Efesios.
1. Quiso verles fortalecidos por el Espíritu, con Cristo habitando en sus corazones y conociendo la plenitud de Su persona y Su amor, y llenos de toda la plenitud de Dios.
2. Terminó con un reventón de oración.
IV. La continuación del capítulo 2.
A. Versículos 1-3: Debemos andar como es digno de la posición de los llamados. El Espíritu de Dios une a todos los creyentes en un cuerpo de Cristo. En vez de demostrar la verdad de un cuerpo, un organismo, los miembros del cuerpo están divididos en organizaciones.
B. Versículos 4-6: Tres círculos concéntricos
1. Versículo 4 incluye a los creyentes verdaderos unidos a Cristo por el Espíritu.
2. Versículo 5 es una esfera de profesión a la cual uno puede ser introducido por el bautismo. No todos los que dicen Señor, Señor, son verdaderos.
3. Versículo 6 es el círculo más grande e incluye a todos los seres humanos porque Dios tiene una demanda sobre todos.
C. Versículos 7-16: Los dones en el cuerpo
1. Cada creyente tiene a lo menos uno. ¿Estás ejercitando el tuyo?
2. Necesitamos ser edificadores, no mentirosos.
3. Somos responsables a la Cabeza del cuerpo en cuanto a cómo usamos nuestros dones.
A. Efesios 4:17-32: Hay dos fundamentos para el camino cristiano.
1. “La verdad que está en Cristo”. Él debe efectuar un cambio en nuestras vidas.
2. Debemos andar con una conducta que no contriste al Espíritu Santo.
B. Efesios 5:1-20: Debemos ser imitadores de Dios y andar en luz. En la juventud y en toda edad es fácil hacer decisiones que van a dejar sus efectos hasta que el Señor viene o morimos. Debemos aprovechar del tiempo en nuestra juventud. Nunca vas a tener más tiempo, ni más energía. Imagínate una pared que está tapada con pedazos de vidrios rotos puestos en cemento. Piensa de un gato caminando entre los pedazos de vidrio. Así es como tenemos que caminar en este mundo peligroso. En todo esto, debemos estar gozosos y agradecidos a Dios.
1. Efesios 5:21: La clave es sumisión, que empieza con la sumisión a Cristo en nuestros corazones.
2. Efesios 5:22-24: La esposa tiene que estar sujeta a su marido, como al Señor. ¿Hermanita, si tiene un novio que es creyente, si te casas con él puedes cumplir con las instrucciones de estos versículos? Si no es un creyente con el deseo de andar para agradecer al Señor, no puedes.
3. Efesios 5:25-33: El marido está instruido para amar a su esposa como Cristo amó a la iglesia. El amor divino de Cristo ha actuado en el pasado (versículo 25), está actuado en el presente (versículo 26), y va a actuar en el futuro (versículo 27). ¿Hermanito, si está pensando en una novia, puedes amarle a ella en esta forma y pensar en lo que puede dar más que en lo que puede recibir? Es importante ser la persona correcta antes de encontrar la persona correcta.
4. Efesios 6:3: Obediencia es la palabra para los hijos.
5. Efesios 6:4: Paciencia y dependencia en el Señor es la palabra para los padres. Somos responsables de como criamos a nuestros hijos.
6. Efesios 6:5-8: Si uno tiene un jefe en su trabajo que tal vez no es justo o bueno, es importante obedecerle “como a Cristo”.
7. Efesios 6:19: La autoridad no debe corromper a un creyente.
D. Efesios 6:10-20: La armadura de Dios
1. Nuestras batallas muchas veces no son con cosas visibles porque son espirituales. El diablo está oponiéndose a los derechos de un Cristo celestial y al evangelio.
2. Los lomos, el lugar de fuerza, necesitan estar ceñidos con la verdad.
3. El pecho necesita una coraza de justicia, como nosotros necesitamos mantener una buena conciencia.
4. Los pies necesitan andar en paz y trayendo paz.
5. Necesitamos proteger nuestros corazones y todo nuestro cuerpo con el escudo de la fe.
6. En nuestra mente necesitamos el yelmo de la salvación, la esperanza de la venida del Señor.
7. En nuestra mano debemos tener la única arma que sirve para combatir y defendernos, la Biblia.
8. Con las rodillas dobladas, podemos estar listos para las batallas.
E. Efesios 6:21: Saludos y bendición final.
