Wanting the "Message From God"

Lance-Corporal John Roberts writes: — “I think I wrote and thanked you for the last parcel of tracts you sent me. They all seem to be wanting the next issue of ‘Message from God.’ They say they like the little bits, they mean the stories. It is a good paper, so I have to tell them they will get them as soon as I get them. When they know I have a fresh parcel they come round to see if it is a fresh one. I went round to the Y.M.C.A. the other night before the concert came on, and gave out some that, had been sent to me. It was one of the opportunities a tract-distributor prays for; one always has a chance to pass a word in season. ‘I met one who before the War had run well, and I thank God I had the joy of seeing him write his name in the Gospel, and he is going to take up the line where he let go. What a glorious privilege it is to be able to tell men about Jesus Christ, the Ore who is able to save and to reclaim!”
Giving his blood for another
“I am reminded of a young comrade I met while in hospital at C―s, near our base. I was able to go about the hospital, for I was not tied down to a bed, and I spoke to him about Jesus and His cleansing blood. I told him how Jesus gave Himself, and he accepted Jesus as Savior. I did not see him again for two days, then he told me as Jesus had, done so much for him, he was going to do something for a comrade in another bed who was dying. The nurse told me that this comrade was passing away, but the doctor thought that ‘transfusion of blood’ might save him, so my comrade had volunteered to give up some of his blood to try the experiment. I saw him after the operation, and he was rejoicing that God had given him strength to do it. Soon both were able to travel to ‘Blighty’ saved by the blood.
“It was a joy to pass on that illustration, but, as I told them, the blood of Jesus Christ avails for all; cleanses all; and it is for whosoever.
“I thank you for all your past help, and must ask for more, for I dare not disappoint my comrades as long as God gives me strength to carry on, and I know, if my ‘Home call’ comes, He will raise up someone else to take my place. Thank you for your prayers. During the next few weeks remember me that I may be faithful always.” — Lance-Corporal J. R —.
