Studying The Bible It has been well said that there are four things necessary in studying the Bible: 1. ADMIT: Admit that it is true from cover to cover. “Thy Word is truth” (John 17:17). “Every word of God is pure” (Proverbs 30:5). 2. SUBMIT: Submit to its teachings and admonitions. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22). “Submit yourselves therefore to God” (James 4:7). 3. COMMIT: Commit it to memory–and do it while you are young. “I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy Word” (Psalm 119:16). 4. TRANSMIT: Pass along the gospel and the truth to others. You really never have something until you share it. “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee” (Mark 5:19).
