Dear Young Christian: Here is a good motto from the Bible for us all to take heed to this week: “Be courteous” (1 Peter 3:8). Open the car door for her — it’s considerate. Stand up on a crowded bus and offer the lady your seat. Let the lady with the young child go ahead and board the plane first. Say “Excuse me!” when you accidentally bump into that older brother after prayer meeting. Say “Hello!” to that old, frail sister who doesn’t walk as fast as she used to. Say “Thank you!” when someone shows you a little kindness. Hold the swinging door so that it doesn’t slam in the face of the person behind you. These seem to be little things, but they make the day go better for others. Be courteous. God expects you to. Your Christian Friend, Jim Hyland We would love to hear from you. |
