Stillness — Part 1 “He leadeth me beside the still waters” (Psalm 23:2). In a world and society of constant movement, and hustle andbustle, here are three principles that are good to keep in mind: “Stand still” (Exodus 14:13). “Sit still” (Ruth 3:18). “Be still” (Psalm 46:10). We don’t seem to know much about stillness today, and if we are going to practice these three principles it is going to take discipline. Remember, the Lord wants us to take time not only to slow down, but also to stop, and to be … STILL! If we do not take time for stillness in the presence of the Lord Jesus each day, we are busier than God ever intended any person to be! The reason we do not always hear the Lord speaking to us in “a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12), is because we are not “Still” ourselves. Ask yourself, “Have I taken a stillness break today?”
