Prayer & Reading

“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”
(Isaiah 40:30-31).

Sometimes my heart is weary,

My footsteps almost slide,

My heart grows dim and leery,

And hope seems to have died;

It is because I have not,

Been trusting in my Lord,

I’ve not been daily praying,

Or reading in His Word.

And then His grace restores me,

When back to Him I turn:

And then He, by His Spirit,

Causes my heart to burn:

He leads me back to trust Him,

To pray and read His Word,

To walk in sweet communion,

With Jesus Christ, my Lord.
