Wonderful “His name shall be called Wonderful” (Isaiah 9:6). Some seven hundred years after Isaiah announced the Son of God as Wonderful, the Lord Jesus appeared in this world in human form. Now we know by divine revelation that He is indeed wonderful in His person. John declared, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). However, no mind can fully fathom, no heart completely grasp, and no pen adequately describe how wonderful He truly is. The more the heart considers Him, the more wonderful He appears. Still greater and more wonderful it is that He went to the cross and gave “Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor” (Ephesians 5:2). • His name is Wonderful! • He is a wonderful person! • His glory is wonderful! • His work is wonderful! We have a wonderful Savior. Let our wonder turn to praise and worship today.
