God Is for Us
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest … . Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight” (Joshua 1:9; 10:25).
Every day we can have confidence and assurance that our Savior and Friend, Jesus Christ, is with us and on our side in our daily battles with our enemy, Satan. We must never forget that we are very special to God the Father and to the Lord. Remember, we cost them a great deal. The Father sent the Son, and the Lord Jesus gave His life and shed His blood for us on Calvary’s cross. He died so that we could be with Him for all eternity.
We can face the enemy and overcome; not in our own strength or through our own devices, but in the power of the one of whom we read, “If God be for us, who can be against us” (Romans 8:31)?
The realization of this wonderful truth should be a real encouragement to us. God does not look down on us. We are His children and He loves us very much. Remember this, and take courage as you face the day.
