WearyPart 4

“But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing” (2 Thessalonians 3:13).

There is much to do for the Lord, but sad to say, sometimes a lack of diligence and energy on our part. Perhaps sometimes we feel that we are doing it all and that others need to step up and help or do something for us for a change. Maybe we don’t see any appreciation on the part of those we are serving, or we don’t feel like there is any fruit as a result of our “well doing.” The book of Galatians gives us further instruction and encouragement: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:9-10).

As we conclude this series, I would point out one more verse: “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary” (Isaiah 50:4). If you see fellow believers who has become spiritually weary and faint, seek to help and encourage them by speaking of Christ and sharing those things from the Word of God that will give courage to the weary spirit and the fainting heart.
