Our Greatest Need

“Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).

I found this quote in an old periodical called, Grace & Truth, from April 1995:

If our greatest need had been information,
           God would have sent an educator.

If our greatest need had been technology,
           God would have sent an engineer.

If our greatest need had been money,
           God would have sent an economist.

If our greatest need had been pleasure,
           God would have sent an entertainer.

But our greatest need was forgiveness,
           So God sent us a Savior.

“And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world” (1 John 4:14).

“Be it known unto you therefore … that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins” (Acts 13:38).
