Repentance

“And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown….And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that He had said that He would do unto them; and He did it not” (Jonah 3:4, 10).

In Bible times, the city of Ninevehfrom the king down to the lowliest servantrepented and turned to God in response to the preaching of the prophet Jonah. God spared judgment at that time. Today, the great majority of people have no time, belief or respect for God, and we see little repentance. The Apostle Paul wrote, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).

God is about to judge the world, and the Bible warns,

“The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here” (Matthew 12:41).

If you have still not repented of your sins do so today before it is too late.
