“Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me” (Psalm 50:23).
Our verse today brings out what we mentioned in the last sentence of yesterday’s meditation. When we sing the Lord’s praises, we glorify Him. We will certainly sing His praises in heaven, but the Lord wants us to begin down here. Yes, there are some people who cannot sing, and others who have difficulty singing on key, but most of us have good voices that can be used for God’s glory.
In Hebrews 13:15 we are told to bring to the Lord “the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.” In the Old Testament, the Israelites were not allowed to bring a blemished animal as a sacrifice. It could not be lame, or sick, or blind, or anything like that. Are we bringing a “blemished sacrifice” to the Lord by not giving Him our best in our praise to Him?
