“Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy” (James 5:11).
If we have gotten away from the Lord, He is often very gracious to us. Sometimes we are like that wolf; we do not want to get rid of our snare right away. Sadly, we tend to believe Satan more than we believe the Lord. But as our verse for today shows, the Lord is pitiful and of tender mercy; He graciously approaches us with love, and wins our confidence. Then, when we have trusted Him, and realized our weakness and failure, He releases us from the snare into which we have fallen.
Once we are free from that snare, again we are free to follow the Lord, and to live to please Him. We must walk carefully. Satan has many traps, and we need to be watchful, and be walking with the Lord to avoid them.
